That's funny but they call that a close call. Like everything else they just capitalize off having crap like that and worrying you so you watch their shows.

Thanks! there are similarities but is is what is appearing to be a parfect setup for a TET in Afghanistan that is concerning me even more because one of my sons is there. as for UK not reporting it, that is probably because Bush didn't like it, the sniper videos targeting Americans on CNN particularly didn't go over well. I think it is important to show what those troops are up against though. That too is particularly troubling to me because when my son finishes in Afghanistan he goes to Iraq where he no doubt will meet one of his brothers who is flying in the Air Force and his Squadron takes over command there May 1. What a mess and it will get a lot worse.
I am getting ready to finish putting together a post on the Iraq mes as soon as I get the link and story where Bush is saying stupidly again that Ira2q is tough but we are still going to stay the course. Iraq is lost and he is an idiot.
You know, I was thinking about what I said about having a lot more in common with British Bloggers. It reminded me, my Grandfather came off the boat from Harrow on the Hill in England where ha met my grandmother from Couty Carrie Ireland, then he joined WW1. It is him I take after. I am from a military family myself, so I know what you are going through. Luckily, the last of my family were in action in the "1st" Gulf War, but we are all out of the military now.
I hope that they return to you safe, but if they are as switched on as you obviously are, I don't think you need to worry to much.
My prayers are with them, truly.
Actually, I think Bush is making a rod for his own back. Good families have strong traditions of sending their sons to the military, to learn that freedom is not free, and to learn how to be a true Patriot.
Those families are now being shit on left right and center, fighting oil wars.
Until only a few years ago, I always supported the decision of boys to go into the military. I would not advise them to do that anymore.
Would you advise a grandson to sign up anymore?

I was just looking at your comment. It's funny you say that about me but the one in Afghanistan is a nightmare for whoever crosses him. As I was, they all wrestled in school and as my father told me, I told them that if they let anyone kick their ass they would have to deal with me.
That never happened and I hope they stay safe and are not saddled because I raised them to be aggressive go getters.
You know, I have a vile distaste for what Bush is doing to not only us but the world for his fucked up new order.
However I trained my sons to realize they were serving us and the country and shits like Bush are just temporary.
I still think that everyone should perform military service. I will guarantee you that Jims daughter who is as fearless and aggressive as him, will want to serve too and as EOD. What sucks is that with all this crap just getting started and the fact that Bush has set in motion feelings that will not be quelled and will go on for years I don't think they are going to have a choice and am afraid it is going to be pretty fucked up and as we are already recalling soldiers to duty. I am afraid anyone that can be will be needed and recalled.
Oh yeah! I just got off the phone with Joe who was in Germany and Qatar. They had to fly back the crew of their fellow plane because the pilot got himself killed but he had a good time, oh well!
